Bear With Me

I get it wrong. A lot. I want grace when I wrong someone, too. So, I must be mindful to bear with others and FORGIVE as the Lord forgave ME.

Often, when I am frustrated with a situation or another person, my first reaction is to vent my frustration to a family member or coworker.  While it may help me get it off my chest and make me feel validated in the moment, I’ve done the exact opposite of what God’s word tells me to do and I’ve likely tainted another person’s reputation, even if only slightly.  Colossians 3:13 (NIV) tells us to bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  So, rather than get frustrated with them, I should bear with them.  Of course, I mess up too.  As much as I want to believe it, I am NOT perfect.  I get it wrong.  A lot.  I want grace when I wrong someone, too.  So, I must be mindful to bear with others and FORGIVE as the Lord forgave ME.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love.  Thank You for sending Christ Jesus to redeem us.  Thank You for forgiving us.  Please help us to bear with others and to forgive them just as You forgave us.  We love You.  We trust You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
