I often wonder why we go through some of the things we do. Health issues, financial issues, family situations. They seem to never end and the stress of it all just seems to compound. Life is hard. However, God never promised an easy road. In fact, Jesus said “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). I have to guard my heart and mind daily. I have to make the decision each day to live Psalms 55:22, which says, Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. I know that I am not able to do this on my own. I also know that God never meant for me to carry my burdens alone. He wants to carry them for me. He will sustain me. He will never let me be shaken. Writing it down, even saying it out loud, still doesn’t do justice to the full weight of what that means in the life of a believer. It is overwhelming and I pray to always remember that God is for me. He truly cares for me.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that, even though we go through hard times, You are always with us. We can cast our cares on You and You are waiting with open arms to sustain us. Thank You for never letting the righteous be shaken. You are so good to us. Please keep us ever mindful of your faithfulness. We love You. We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
