Rejoice!

It is so easy to get caught up in our own day-to-day happenings. But – when we take a moment to think about the fact that God loves us so much, that He actually provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus, in spite of our sins, if we would repent, and accept His salvation. It is so overwhelming I can hardly breathe. So, I will rejoice in the Lord!

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4).  As believers we are commanded to rejoice in the Lord.  Always.  No matter what.  Even when we don’t feel like it.  That’s hard to do.  I know it is for me.  But it is a choice we must make each day, even when we are faced with adversity.  Jesus gave us the greatest example that we could have ever asked for.  In Hebrews 12:2 we read, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Jesus knew that joy was on the other side of His suffering.  I’m certain that didn’t make it easier.  But he made the choice to endure for me and for you.  What joy for us as believers!  We can rejoice in the salvation that God promised.  We can rejoice because no one can take it away.

Heavenly Father,

You are good.  You are worthy of all glory and honor.  Please help us rejoice in You no matter our circumstances.  You are worthy to be praised.  We love You.  We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
