Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). God knows this is a hard one for me. I have yelled the words, “I just don’t understand!” out of frustration many times when things don’t work out the way I planned or the way that I think they should. I wanted to be in control, rather than seek The One who truly is in control. I would be lying if I said I have totally let go and let God. BUT, this is a verse that I cling to when I find myself leaning on my own understanding and trying to control situations and people around me. I give it to God. Sometimes repeatedly. I ask Him to help me trust Him, to help me submit to Him. I truly believe that we have not because we ask not. We lack faith and trust because we do not ask God to help us and build us up. So, ask Him. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
Dear God,
Thank You that we can come to You in prayer, ask for what we need, and You will supply. Please give us wisdom to trust You in all things and to lean not to our own understanding. Help us to submit to you in all our ways so that you will make our paths straight. We love You. We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
