What To Do

Isn’t it amazing how our relationships here on Earth are a picture of our relationship with God? I know what I ought to do, but many times, I just can’t seem to get it right.

“Why won’t you just do what I ask the first time?”  Those are words that I say to my teenagers often.  As soon as the words leave my mouth, I think about my relationship with my Heavenly Father and how many times I have to hit my head against a brick wall before I do what He tells me to do the first time in His word.  Isn’t it amazing how our relationships here on Earth are a picture of our relationship with God?  Just like my teenagers, I know what I ought to do, but many times, I just can’t seem to get it right.  I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do (Romans 7:15).  Of course, my desire is to please God.  Yet, sin seems to always get in the way, whether in thought or deed.  Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:25).

Dear God,

Thank You for deliverance through Jesus Christ our Lord!  Thank You for Your unfailing love.  We love You.  We trust You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
