It is so easy to become discouraged and worn down by continuously striving to do good. Weariness is especially common where there are those who would take advantage of that kindness. Who enjoys being deceitfully used? Galatians 6:9 says, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. We must remember that we are storing up our treasures in Heaven, not that we can ever earn our salvation or pay for our sins. The whole point is that only what we do for Christ will last. So, do good and love hard. “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’ (Matthew 25:40).
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for grace and mercies that are new every morning. Please help us to not grow weary in doing good. We love You. We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
