Romans 13:1 says, ‘Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God’.
As believers, let us pray for the authorities that have been established by God. Let us pray that God gives them wisdom, strength, and courage to do what is right and just in His sight. Let us pray that God’s will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Let us also pray for each other. Let us pray for eyes that see we are all made in God’s image. Let us pray for humble hearts that honor others above ourselves. Let us pray for God to fill us with more of Him and less of us every day. ‘A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another’ (John 13:34).
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for grace and mercy. Thank You for the authorities that You have established. Please bless each of them with wisdom, strength, and courage to govern according to Your will. Please help us to respect authority. Please help us to love and honor our neighbors. Help us focus less on ourselves and more on You every day. We love You. We trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
