It is so easy to get caught up in our own day-to-day happenings. But – when we take a moment to think about the fact that God loves us so much, that He actually provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus, in spite of our sins, if we would repent, and accept His salvation. It is so overwhelming I can hardly breathe. So, I will rejoice in the Lord!

God created us to worship Him and only Him. “…all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16). How do we worship only God in a world that is increasingly focused only on satisfying oneself? We go against that narrative.
We can be sure of the fact (and take comfort in knowing) that any weakness of God is still stronger than the strongest human. We do not have to be perfect, or strong. God is always with us and He is more than enough.
Not Defeated
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” There is a very real battle taking place. It is the battle for our very souls.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” We can’t stop evil from happening to and around us. But, we can love instead of hate. We can pray instead of complain. I firmly believe that prayer changes things and it changes people.
Give Grace
Everybody is going through something. What good does it do to unload my stress on someone who’s dealing with their own issues? The point is to give Grace!
As parents, sometimes we seem to get stuck on Colossians 3:20, “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord”. I take nothing away from this. I believe it and train my children in this way. However, the word also says that as a parent, “do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4).
Stressed Out
Life is hard. However, God never promised an easy road. In fact, Jesus said “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Known
Can we say with conviction what we will or won’t do and what our motivations are? Since our knowledge of each other and of ourselves is so severely limited, how can we even begin to understand God?
Doubt
I know God wants me to trust Him. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5, NIV). I know He’s made a way many times before. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, NIV). I am ashamed to admit how many times I’ve failed to remember the times and the ways He’s come through for me.
